A map of the march routes of a detachment of the Allied army under the command of Lieutenant-General Sommerfeldt, between Ahlost (Aalst 50°56'09"N 04°02'07"E) and Oudenaarde 31 May to 2 June 1744. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with south-west to top.

One of a set of six encampment maps of which the first one is missing (not present when catalogued in the early nineteenth century); see RCINs 729007.a-f. The distance travelled on this march route was about 34 km (21 miles).

Condition: no fold lines. Verso: induced discolouration.
