A map of the encampments of the Allied army along the Main and Rhine between 12 August and 13 October 1743. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with north-west to top. The attribution to Schultz is made on stylistic grounds and with reference to the old catalogue entry.

The maps were formerly kept in a thick light buff rag folder, 50.5 x 31.4 cm (folded size), on the front of which is inscribed, in ink: No.s 328-330 / [old heading, red ink:] Battle of Dettingen 27 June 1743 and Encampments from that time to / the 13 Oct.r 1743 / [black pencil, in a modern hand:] (a b c Oct. '86).

Condition: two fold lines; yellow with age.
