A map of the encampment of the Allied army under the command of Prince Charles of Lorraine at Peer, 23-24 July 1746. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with west to top.

The march from Achel south to Grand Brügel (Grote-Brogel 51°09'10"N 05°30'21"N), north-east of Peer, was about 11 km (6.8 miles). The campsite (Austrians, English, Hanoverian, Hessian, Dutch) occupied about 7 km (4.3 miles) on the ground between Meuven (Meeuwen 51°05'56"N 05°31'15"E) and Grand Brügel (Grote-Brogel).
