    A view of the battle between the Imperial army and the Turks near Stuhlweissenburg on 15 October 1601, resulting in an Imperial victory. Ottoman-Habsburg Wars: The Long War (1591/3-1606).

    The Imperial troops are shown on the left; the commanders and their regiments, made up of armed arquebusiers, specially chosen to mount a cavalry charge are marked ‘V’ and an impassable marsh is marked with an ‘X’. The Turkish troops are to the right, numbered 1-17. The view shows the typical Turkish semicircular formation designed to surround enemy troops.

      Condition: one fold line; pressure marks from the mounts of items which were kept above and below this print in a different collection are present on the recto and verso. Verso: remains of Mount Type B? on verso; no gilt edges
